Crocheted Chemistry Creations

Ahead of Easter Term, library assistant Megan Holman put her creative talents to work by crocheting a collection of chemistry-themed study buddies for the library. These colourful creations are bright, cheerful and (most importantly) silent!

More New Chairs on Their Way

Following the successful replacement of 40 desk chairs last summer with colourful, more comfortable operator chairs, the library is pleased to announce that a further 40 chairs will be replaced this summer.

Data Champions Network Growing in Chemistry

Did you know that the University has a network of Data Champions? Champions are volunteers from across the University who are passionate about good research data management (RDM) and support colleagues with the handling, organisation and sharing of research data.

We are delighted that Sara Wallce (Librarian) has recently joined the Data Champions network, alongside Matthew Cotton (PDRA, Klenerman Group). They join the Department's existing Data Champions, Matthew Evans (Leverhulme Trust Early Career Research Fellow, Grey Group) and Roberto Canales (Mass Spectroscopy specialist).

Cambridge University Libraries Survey 2026

Earlier this year, the university ran a survey about our library and Sara writes: “Thank you to all who responded in the Cambridge University Libraries Survey in March.  The Chemistry Library team have received results relating specifically to our library, subject area and library staff.  We will be acting upon feedback soon, but wanted to say thank you all for all the lovely comments made about the Chemistry Library staff!  We’ve collated them into a poster for our noticeboards.”
